Concepts

Tom-UI is supposed to be a simple, easy-to-use frontend.

Main window

Main window

The main window is vertically split into two parts. The 1st piece is the project tree, the 2nd part of the window is the table of entries.

Project Tree

This tree displays all of the available projects.

You can use the context menu to work with the items. Alternatively, you can use the menu “Project” of the menubar.

Select a project to display all of the available data.

Use drag&drop to rearrange the projects.

You can configure the visible columns by using entries of the menu “Settings”.

Table of Entries

This table displays all the entries for the currently selected project.

Each item is called a ‘time entry’.

You can use the context menu to work with the items.

Use drag&drop to move entries to another project.

Archived Entries

Time entries can be archived. For example, once you've finished a project or when you have send an invoice to your client, then you can archive the corresponding entries. You can hide archived entries from the table of entries by using the entry in the menu “Settings”.

Reporting Dialog

Reports are configured and displayed in the reporting dialog.

Settings Dialog

You can change the available settings in the settings dialog. Most important are the global shortcuts and the application shortcuts.
